Leaders Taekwondo School - a martial arts school founded in 1993 by Grand Master Dr. Loghman Keshavarz outside of Canada, and now proudly serving the Vancouver, British Columbia community since our move in 2020.

At Leaders, we are dedicated to helping individuals of all ages reach their fitness goals by improving their agility, flexibility, strength, endurance, power, speed, and cardiovascular health. Our comprehensive training in all aspects of Taekwondo, including sparring, Poomsae (pattern), and Honmadong (demonstration),  ensures that our students develop a well-rounded skill set.

Our experienced instructors work closely with each student, providing personalized attention to help them identify and achieve their individual goals. Our aim is to train our students to participate in tournaments at both national and international levels, and we strive to provide them with the necessary needs to succeed.

We pride ourselves on having highly educated instructors who are well-versed in the art of Taekwondo. Our team comprises international instructors who bring a global perspective to our training programs. With over 30 years of experience in teaching Taekwondo, our instructors have honed their expertise and are dedicated to imparting their knowledge to our students. Not only are they experienced, but many of our instructors have achieved world and international champion titles, showcasing their exceptional skills. Moreover, our instructors stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in sport sciences, ensuring that our training methods are aligned with current practices. We prioritize teaching based on academic methods, providing our students with a comprehensive and well-rounded Taekwondo education.

At Leaders Taekwondo, we believe in a holistic approach to teaching. We prioritize the development of our students' physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Through our training, we aim to enhance self-confidence, instill discipline, foster respect, and promote positive social interaction.

Leaders Taekwondo Diversity Program

At Leaders Taekwondo, we offer a comprehensive program to cater to different preferences and needs. Our program includes group classes conducted in person, allowing students to train together and benefit from group dynamics.

We also provide private classes, which can be held either at our gym or at your preferred location, offering personalized attention and focused training.

Additionally, we offer online classes, allowing students to learn and practice Taekwondo from the comfort of their own homes. Our aim is to provide flexibility and convenience while ensuring a high-quality learning experience in all our class formats.

Kids 4-6 years old Program

Welcome to our Taekwondo program for kids. Our program is designed to teach children between the ages of 4-6 the basics of Taekwondo in a safe and supportive environment.

Taekwondo is a martial art that originated in Korea and is now practiced around the world. It involves a combination of punches, kicks, blocks, and strikes, as well as forms, sparring, and self-defense techniques.

But Taekwondo is more than just physical training. It also helps children develop important life skills and values that they can carry with them throughout their lives. Some of the key skills and values that children can develop through our Taekwondo program include:

  • Confidence: Through practicing Taekwondo, children can learn to believe in themselves and their abilities, which can boost their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Discipline: Taekwondo requires focus, perseverance, and dedication. By learning to follow instructions and work towards goals, children can develop discipline and self-control.
  • Respect: Taekwondo emphasizes respect for oneself and others. Children learn to show respect to their instructors, classmates, and opponents, as well as to their parents and teachers outside of class.
  • Physical fitness: Taekwondo is a great way for children to stay active and healthy. It helps improve their strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, balance, power, and agility.
  • Self-defense: Taekwondo teaches children practical self-defense techniques that can help them stay safe in a variety of situations.

Youth Program

In our youth classes at Leaders Taekwondo, our primary focus is on helping students improve the quality and precision of their techniques. We pay close attention to the details, ensuring that they master proper form and execution in their Taekwondo movements.
We understand that each student may have different interests and aspirations within Taekwondo. Therefore, we guide them in selecting a professional path that aligns with their individual goals. Whether they are inclined towards poomsae (forms), sparring, or joining our demonstration team, we provide specialized training and support to nurture their chosen area of focus.
Furthermore, we emphasize teaching students how to control and channel their energy effectively. We help them understand the importance of discipline and self-control, both inside and outside the training environment. By instilling these qualities, we aim to empower our young students with the ability to harness their energy in a positive and productive manner.
Through our youth classes, we strive to create a nurturing and encouraging environment where students can develop their technical skills, discover their passion within Taekwondo, and learn valuable life lessons that extend beyond the mats.

Adult Program

In our adult classes at Leaders Taekwondo, we cater to the diverse physical activity needs of our students while focusing on their overall fitness and skill development. Our classes encompass a range of elements to provide a well-rounded training experience.
We prioritize fitness by incorporating dynamic exercises and conditioning routines to improve strength, endurance, and cardiovascular health. Flexibility training is also emphasized to enhance mobility and prevent injuries.
Poomsae, or forms, are an essential component of our adult classes. We teach and refine the precise movements and techniques of various poomsae, allowing students to develop focus, concentration, and body control.
Sparring drills and techniques are an integral part of our training, promoting strategic thinking, agility, and precision during combat scenarios. We create a safe and controlled environment to enhance our students' sparring skills.
Furthermore, we offer opportunities for demonstrations, allowing students to showcase their skills and perform choreographed routines. This aspect adds an element of creativity and showmanship to our adult classes.
Overall, our adult classes are designed to accommodate the individual physical activity needs of our students, promoting fitness, flexibility, poomsae, sparring, and various other aspects of Taekwondo training. We strive to provide a fulfilling and engaging experience for all participants.

Advanced Program 

In our advanced classes at Leaders Taekwondo, we prioritize several key areas of training to prepare our students for high-level competition. We specialize in Olympic-style Taekwondo, focusing on the techniques and strategies employed in Olympic-level sparring.
Our instructors are highly skilled in teaching high-level sparring techniques and tactics. We emphasize precision, speed, agility, and timing to help our students excel in competitive sparring. Through rigorous training, we aim to develop their offensive and defensive skills, enabling them to adapt to various situations in the ring.
In addition to sparring, we incorporate modern conditioning workouts to enhance our students' physical strength, endurance, and flexibility. These workouts are specifically designed to optimize their athletic performance in Taekwondo.
Our ultimate goal is to prepare our students to participate in tournaments at different levels, ranging from local and national competitions to international events, world championships, and even the Olympic Games. We provide the necessary guidance, support, and training to help our students reach their full potential and achieve success in their competitive Taekwondo journey.
